Overview of UBS
UBS is a financial intermediary divided into three business groups: Investment Banking (corporate, government and institutional clients), Wealth Management (private clients) and Global Asset Management (institutional funds management).

Training
Our summer internship program offers you an insight into our culture and working environment, plus the chance to work alongside some of the top people in the finance industry. The 8-9 week structured program combines education and training with important social and networking events. It is designed to allow you to demonstrate your potential within a practical work environment, offer you a challenging, professional experience filled with responsibilities, provide you with exposure to senior management, and allow you to familiarise yourself with the company. The program also shows us if you have what it takes to succeed in our demanding environment.

Top performers can expect to receive a graduate offer to join our global training program the following year.

Application Details
UBS recruits across all disciplines. Applicants should be highly numerate and able to demonstrate an excellent record of extra-curricular and academic achievement with a minimum average result of High Credit. We are also looking for entrepreneurship, commercial edge, demonstrated interest in the financial markets, personal drive and first-rate interpersonal skills.

Summer intern applications are accepted via our website from penultimate year candidates to join our summer program in December 2006.

What does Credit Suisse look for?

Interested candidates must be in their penultimate year of studies majoring in Economics/Commerce/Finance/Engineering/Law or entering an honours program (graduating mid/end 2007) and have a strong interest in building a career in Asia or Australia. Credit Suisse is noted for the diversity of its employees but seeks candidates with a common set of abilities - highly motivated, creative individuals who have demonstrated academic achievement and have the ability to work independently while still operating as a member of a team. Strength in verbal and written communication and computer literacy is essential to all that we do. In addition, we look for intelligent, driven and hardworking candidates with consistent leadership skills, involvement in school activities and work experience. For positions based in Asia, fluency in an Asian language would be an advantage. Whilst we only accept applications from permanent residents and citizens for Australia based roles we also have opportunities in our Southeast Asia hub in Singapore (sponsorship of work visa will be provided where required).
